Standard containers are the common currency of international trade – designed for general purpose usage and able to meet the needs of most shipments. Our standard steel boxes are built to protect general cargo on sea, rail and land and can safely be exposed to temperatures ranging from -40°C (-40°F) to 80°C (176°F) without impact on strength or water-tightness. Other features of our standard containers include garment hanger bars, forklift pockets and gooseneck tunnels.


20' Standard Steel Container

Dry Standard Steel Container Suitable for general cargo of any type, the weather-tight 20' standard steel containers operated by APL have a payload capacity of up to 28,160 kg, close to the payload capacity of most 40' standard steel containers. This makes 20' standard steel containers especially suitable for high-density, heavyweight cargo.

In addition, 11 or more APL standard garment hanger bars can be installed and forklift pockets are available on most of our 20’ containers.

40’ Standard Steel Container

Dry Standard Steel Container new The 40’ weather-tight steel containers deployed by APL can be used to transport any general cargo. Exceeding the payload capacity of 26,760 kg (gross weight of 30,480 kg) required by ISO standards, they offer a payload capacity of 28,760 kg with a gross weight of 32,500 kg.

Most of our 40’ standard boxes have a gooseneck tunnel and the ability to install 22 or more garment hanger bars.

40’ High Cube Steel Container

Dry Standard Steel Container new One foot taller than standard 40’ containers, the extra capacity of high cube containers makes them a good fit for voluminous cargo. The ISO standard payload capacity is 26,760 kg with a gross weight of 30,480 kg, but APL’s 40’ high cube steel containers offer a payload capacity of 28,550 kg with a gross weight of 32,500 kg.

Most of our 40’ containers have a gooseneck tunnel and the ability to install 22 or more garment hanger bars.

45’ High Cube Steel Container

Dry Standard Steel Container new At 9’6” tall (high cube) and 45’ long, 45’ high cube containers have a capacity of 86.5 cubic meters, 18.8 cubic meters more than the standard 40’ container. They are especially suitable for voluminous lightweight cargo and most have a gooseneck tunnel and the ability to install 24 or more garment hanger bars.

For perfect freshness on delivery, perishables must be shipped with precise atmosphere and temperature control to maximize cargo value. Deploying one of the largest and youngest fleets of reefer containers in the liner industry, all our refrigerated containers are bottom-air delivery units, guaranteeing uniform and consistent air temperature and flow.


40’ High Cube Muffler Grade Stainless Steel Reefer

APL Refrigerated Container Our 40' muffler grade stainless steel reefer containers are especially suitable for voluminous lightweight cargo. They are equipped with a gooseneck tunnel to center the container on the gooseneck chassis for more secure land transportation.

Cargo comes in all shapes and sizes and cannot always be squeezed into a standard container. APL’s fleet of special containers provide out-of-gauge and projects options for the most unique shipments. Our dedicated teams trained to stow, handle and transport special cargoes are also on hand to provide support from origin to destination.


20’ & 40’ Open Top Container

QC Open Top Ideal for over-height cargo of more than 2.54m (8'5") and those longer cargos that cannot be safely loaded into standard containers. Our open top containers can be top loaded by crane and comes with a movable door top rail that swing open to free up the door height limit.
Commodities commonly shipped in open top containers include machinery, industrial boilers, tractors, steel pipes, steel bars and cables.

20’ & 40’ Collapsible Flat Rack Container

APL Special Container Although flat rack containers are primarily designed for over-width (width greater than 2.35m or 7’8”) and heavyweight cargo, over-height cargo can also be accommodated due to the open construction of the unit. The bottom construction is reinforced to withstand the high pressure of heavyweight cargo. Multiple internal lashing rings are used to secure the cargo.
Commodities commonly shipped in flat rack containers include machinery, industrial boilers, tractors, parts packed in cases, steel tubes, steel pipes, steel bars and cables.

Generator

QC2 Reefer Generator Generator sets can be fitted to a chassis to ensure reefer containers have constant access to power. Since 2007, APL has added over 3,000 of the latest ultra-low carbon emission generators to its fleet to ensure full compliance with the most stringent global environmental regulations.
